A WORSHIP SERVICE
OPENING PRAYER:
O Great Spirit, whose four winds of heaven give life to Forest, Field and Stream. Thank you for allowing us to be together at this campout. We thank you for the sunshine and fresh air, for the companionship between Big Braves and little Braves. We thank you for the many friends we have made here. Help us all seek a world pleasing to the eye of the Great Spirit.
SONG:
Morning Has Broken
Morning has broken like the first morning,
Blackbird has spoken like the first bird.
Praise for the singing! Praise for the morning!
Praise for them springing fresh from the Word!
Sweet the rain's new fall. Sunlit from heaven,
Like the first dew fall on the first grass.
Praise for the sweetness of the wet garden.
Sprung in completeness where his feet pass.
Mine is the sunlight! Mine is the morning
Born of the one light Eden saw play!
Praise with elation, Praise every morning,
God's recreation of the new day.
Morning has broken like the first morning,
Blackbird has spoken like the first bird.
Praise for the singing! Praise for the morning!
Praise for them springing fresh from the Word!

PRAYER (All Big Braves):
Build me a son, O Lord, who will be strong enough to know when he is weak, brave enough to face himself when he is afraid; one who will be proud and unbending in honest defeat, humble and gentle in victory.
Build me a son whose wishes will not take the place of deeds; a son who will know Thee -- and that to know himself is the foundation stone of knowledge.
Lead him, I pray, not in the path of ease and comfort, but under the stress and spur of difficulties and challenge. Let him learn to stand up in the storm; let him learn compassion for those who fail. Build me a son whose heart will be clear, whose goal will be high; a son who will master himself before he seeks to master other men: one who will reach into the future, yet never forget the past. And after all these things are his, add, I pray, enough sense of humor so that he may always be serious yet never take himself to seriously. Give him humility, the simplicity of true greatness, the open mind of true wisdom and the meekness of true strength.
Then I, his father, will dare to whisper, "I HAVE NOT LIVED IN VAIN."
FEDERATION ELDER:
A Little Fellow's Dad
I may never be a clever as my neighbor down the street,
I may never be a wealthy as some other men I meet;
I may never have the glory that some other men have had,
But I've got to be successful as a little fellow's dad.
There are certain dreams I cherish that I'd like to see come true,
There are things I would accomplish ere my working time is through;
But the task my heart is set on is to guide a little lad
And to make myself successful as the little fellow's dad.
It is that one job I dream of; it's the task I think of most;
If I'd fail that growing youngster I'd have nothing else to boast;
For though wealth and fame I'd gather, all my future would be sad,
If I failed to be successful as that little fellow's dad.
I may never get earth's glory; I may never gather gold;
Men may count me as a failure when my business life is told;
But if he who follows after is a Christian, I'll be glad -
For I'll know I've been successful as a little fellow's dad.
SONG:
I'd Like to Teach the World to Sing
I'd like to build the world a home and furnish it with love
Grow apple trees and honey bees and snow-white turtle doves.
I'd like to teach the world to sing in perfect harmony
I'd like to hold it in my arms and keep it company.
I'd like to see the world for once all standing hand in hand
And hear them echo through the hills for peace throughout the land.
Yes, that's the song I'd like to hear the world all sing today
A song of peace that echoes on and never goes away.

THE LORDS PRAYER:
GREAT SPIRIT, whose teepee is the sky and whose hunting ground is the earth,
Mighty and fearful are you called. Ruler over storms, over men and birds and beasts,
Have your way over all - Over earthways as over skyways.
Find us this day our meat and corn, that we may be strong and brave.
And put aside from us our wicked ways as we put aside the bad works of them who do us wrong.
And let us not have such troubles as lead us into crooked roads,
But keep us from all evil,
For you’re in all that is - the earth and the sky, the streams, the hills and the valleys, the stars, the moon, and the sun, and all that live and breathe,
Wonderful. shining mighty Spirit.
CLOSING (LEADER)
May the peace of the forest,
The song of the birds,
The inspiration of the hills,
The warmth of the sun,
The strength of the tree,
The fragrance of the flowers,
The joy of the wind,
And the calm of the lake,
In all of which is the Creator of all good things,
Be in our hearts today and always.
AMEN
