The Yomechas Federation operates programs for three age groups.

For older children and their families, Trailblazers/Trailmates offers a distinctive blend of campouts, skiing, white-water rafting, horseback riding, whirly-ball and similar events. For younger children and their parents, the Pioneer program centers on Tribe meetings with selective participation in Federation-sponsored events.

Our mainstream INDIAN GUIDES and PRINCESS program offers a very full slate of activities and events. The program is targeted at parents and children from kindergarten through 4th grade.

Tribe Meetings and Tribe Outings
Tribes hold monthly tribe meetings, typically at their members' homes. Parents and children attend together. The meetings include stories, songs, crafts, games, ceremonies and snacks. Many tribes also organize special tribe outings for their members.

Federation-Sponsored Events
Our members are all encouraged to participate in the monthly events sponsored by the Federation each year. From September through May, there is at least one event each month. Our campouts are always a favorite. We sponsor three campouts a year - fall, winter and spring. Our other events include a variety of indoor and outdoor activities appropriate to the season:

The Federation typically sponsors several special events each year as well, such as renting a water park or buying a block of seats at a sporting event.

Nation-sponsored Events
Our Nations also sponsor events. Most Nations provide organized floor-hockey or indoor-soccer for their members each winter. Other nation-sponsored events in the past have included overnight stays at the Shedd Aquarium or Field Museum, sporting events, zoo trips, mother-and-son banquets, father-and-daughter dances. (Often-times members of other Nations are invited to join in the fun.)

Community Service
The Yomechas Guides and Princesses program is more then just a parent-child activity. We support several community service endeavors. Community service is one of the many ways we teach our children about caring and sharing.
